Sweden secured an important 3-1 victory over Poland in the UEFA Nations League on home soil. Three different scorers ensured the three points that strengthen the team's position in League B.

Benjamin Nygren got the match off to a fast start in the eighth minute following an assist from Victor Lindelöf. Poland equalised just before half-time through Sebastian Szymański. Sweden regained control in the second half. Substitute Yasin Ayari made it 2-1 in the 63rd minute after a pass from Sebastian Nanasi. Viktor Gyökeres then sealed the 3-1 win in the 72nd minute, assisted by Patrick Wålemark.

Manager Graham Potter set the team up in a 4-4-2 formation with Viktor Johansson in goal. Daniel Svensson was the only Swedish player to receive a yellow card during a first half where Poland had the most shots. Despite the visitors taking 18 shots to Sweden's 12, Johansson and the defence kept a clean sheet in the second period.

The win means Sweden are now on a two-game winning streak, having defeated Romania 2-1 just three days prior. The team sits third in their World Cup qualifying group with four points from three games played. They are three points behind leaders the Netherlands.

The next challenge awaits in a few days away to Bosnia & Herzegovina. A win there would further bolster Sweden's chances ahead of the decisive qualifying matches to come.
