Graham Potter has already started thinking about what the future holds for the Swedish national team after they qualified for the World Cup. – We will be clearer and better at what we do, he says on Instagram.

For Sweden, Romania, Poland, and Bosnia-Herzegovina are waiting in Nations League B in the fall. The EM qualification draw will take place on December 6. Graham Potter has promised to stay as national team coach at least until EM 2028.

– I have recently thought a lot about how to build a team. One of my reflections was that every team and every journey starts in different places. So the first step, which is important, is to understand where we are on our journey, he says.

Graham Potter talks about how his thoughts have gone during the first eight-nine months as national team coach. – The first phase was to qualify for the World Cup. “What is the best way to get there?” When we have succeeded with that, we quickly had to change direction again. “We are in the World Cup, how will we challenge the others?” A new player group, a new situation, he says and then starts talking about how he and the national team will work forward:

– Now it's time for a new step, which does not necessarily mean that we have to do something different or change everything. But we must learn from the two previous steps that we have already cleared. And we will move forward thanks to our lessons. We will be clearer and better at what we do. I look forward to it!

Sweden is third in the World Cup with 4 points after three matches, with one win, one draw, and one loss. The next match is at home against Romania on September 25.
